When the Metro opened in 2003 it anchored the development growth north of Downtown Denver and enriched the neighborhood across 20th Street, one of the main access roads into downtown. This location is a short distance from Coors Field and the popular Lodo neighborhood of residences, shops, offices and restaurants. The close proximity to downtown also benefited residents who wanted the urban experience without being in downtown proper.
